Living near the coast and the estuaries means sandflies and midges, so we fit midge mesh - a finer 18x18 weave - for coastal homes. The mesh holds your sea and harbour views, and the hardware is powder-coated in the Dulux range for year-round coastal use. For covered decks and patios near the water, motorised outdoor screens enclose the space against sandflies and the sea breeze, and a seasonal fresh-water rinse of the hardware keeps everything running smoothly - see our care guide.

Can I get a price without a site visit? +
Usually, yes. Send photos and rough opening sizes through the quote form and we will come back with an indicative price. We only book a measure-up once you're happy with the solution and product.
Do you fit bug screens for coastal Bay of Plenty homes? +
Yes. For homes near the coast and the estuaries we fit midge mesh - a tighter bug screen weave that keeps out the sandflies and midges common around the Bay.
Are your screens made locally? +
We are NZ owned, with our workshop and head office here in Tauranga - that is where our retractable window screens are made. Our door and outdoor ranges are made to measure for us by Phantom in Australia, and every screen is measured and installed by our own Bay of Plenty team - not a reseller.

The hardware is powder-coated in the Dulux range for year-round coastal use, and a seasonal fresh-water rinse keeps everything running smoothly near the water.
Are you the same company as Phantom Screens in the US or Canada? +
We're part of the wider Phantom Screens family, and Phantom Screens NZ is New Zealand owned and run. Phantom in Canada leads much of the international research and development, and a few of our door and outdoor ranges are made to measure by Phantom in Australia, where our New Zealand volumes are too small to make them here. Our window screens are made in our Tauranga workshop, and every screen is measured, fitted, and serviced by our own team across the upper North Island.
