How to Measure for Insect Screens
A rough measurement and a couple of photos are all we need to quote.
What we need to quote
You do not need precise measurements for a quote - a rough size and a photo are plenty. For an indicative price, measure:
- Width - across the opening at its widest point, in millimetres or centimetres.
- Height - top to bottom of the opening.
- A photo - stand back far enough to show the whole door or window and the frame around it.
That is enough for us to recommend the right screen and come back with an indicative price.
How to measure
- Use a steel tape where you can; a rough measure is fine for the quote stage.
- Measure the opening itself, not just the glass - we need the frame.
- Note anything unusual: handles, obstructions, a slider that stacks one way, or a step at the bottom.
Common opening types
Different doors and windows are measured the same simple way - the width across the opening and the height up it. These diagrams show those two measurements for the openings we screen most. A rough size and a photo of any of these is plenty for a quote; we confirm the exact figures at the measure-up.
