Specification support for your project
Phantom Screens New Zealand works with architects, designers, and builders to specify retractable insect screens for doors or windows, and patio or outdoor blinds. We can be involved from concept or detail design, advising on span limits, recesses, wiring, and specifications so the screens integrate cleanly into the build.
Product data and downloads
Each system has its own span limits, cassette sizes, and mesh or fabric options. Specification and product brochures for each system are available to download below. CAD, 3D models, Revit/BIM families, and NZ-specific metric drawings are available on request - contact us with your project. Installation and detailing
Most installs are retrofitted to existing joinery, but on new builds we coordinate recessed cassette and side-channel details with your joiner or builder, and wiring runs for motorised outdoor blinds with your electrician. For frameless corner openings the Brio bi-fold can meet without a corner post, and cassettes can be recessed into a prepared cavity so the hardware sits flush - recessed-cavity and carriage-support drawings are in the downloads below.
Finishes and warranty
Hardware is typically powder-coated in the Dulux range - 20 standard colours, or a custom match for a small surcharge. See the colour options guide for the standard range. Screens we make carry a limited lifetime parts warranty, with installation labour covered for 24 months. On Executive motorised screens, motors are covered for 5 years and electrical components, including remotes and receivers, for 1 year. Mesh is a wear item and excluded, but it is replaceable and serviceable. For Brio 612, Allegion provides 5 years of mechanical cover for interior installations and 1 year for exterior installations. Our manual Ziptrak installs use genuine system components backed for 5 years through the retailer, while Visiontex mesh, when specified, has a 10-year performance warranty subject to its conditions. All of this sits alongside the Consumer Guarantees Act, and specific terms for a specified or commercial job are available on request.
Detailing options
Phantom Wall Screen and MeshLock retractable screens carry a few detailing options specified at order. The latch stop - the slide-bar latch that holds the screen closed - can sit front-of-slidebar or back-of-slidebar to suit how the screen meets the jamb or a paired screen, with the plastic component colour matched to the hardware. For most openings the standard configuration is what we fit; where a particular layout needs it, note the detail with your order or send it through and we will confirm at the measure-up.

Are you the same company as Phantom Screens in the US or Canada? +
Phantom Screens NZ is New Zealand owned and run, and part of the wider Phantom Screens family. Phantom in Canada leads much of the group's research and development, and a few of our door and outdoor ranges are made to measure by Phantom in Australia, where our New Zealand volumes are too low to make them here. Most of our screens are made to measure in our own Tauranga workshop.
