Screening designed for village living
Retirement villages want screening that residents can use easily and that keeps looking after itself. Phantom retractable screens suit both: they are light to operate, they retract out of sight when not in use, and they let residents leave doors and windows open for fresh air without flies, mosquitoes, or midges getting in. The hardware is built to be used every day for years, and mesh cartridges and parts are replaceable, so a screen is serviced rather than replaced.
We can screen a single villa or coordinate a whole stage with the village - hinged, sliding, and ranch-slider doors, wide sliders and stackers on the Wall Screen system, and made-to-measure window screens, all installed by our own team.
For apartment-style units with lift access, the Executive motorised screen is available as a two-part system that is rejoined on site, with a battery motor that charges by USB-C so no wiring is needed - see our guide to patio screens for apartments.

Do you work with retirement village operators? +
Yes. We work with village operators and developers on new builds and existing villas, and we are an approved or recommended provider at several villages. We can quote a single villa or a whole stage, and coordinate access and timing with the village.
Can residents arrange screens themselves? +
Often, yes - it depends on the village's rules. Some villages have us as the go-to provider so residents can deal with us directly; others prefer enquiries to come through the operator. If you are a resident, send us your village and we will let you know the best way to proceed.
Why do retractable screens suit older residents? +

Where do you install for villages? +
Across the upper North Island, from Taupo north - Northland, Auckland, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty - which covers most of the region's villages. We take on larger or out-of-area village work nationwide by arrangement.
