What to Expect from Installation
From first quote to finished screen - how an install runs, step by step.
The process, start to finish
- Indicative quote - you send photos and rough sizes; we come back with an indicative price. No visit needed to get started.
- Measure-up - once you’re happy with the solution and product, we visit to take precise measurements, confirm the screen type, mesh, and colour, and talk through how it will operate. This is where the final quote is set.
- Manufacture - your screens are custom-made to those exact measurements, ready for a precise fit.
- Installation - our own team fits the screens, usually in a day, with a tidy finish and a run-through of how they work.
What the measure-up involves
The measure-up is quick and obligation-light. We check the opening (including any out-of-square, which is common in older homes), confirm the right screen and mesh for how you will use it, and help you settle on a colour to match your joinery. You leave with a firm, made-to-measure quote.
On install day
- Our own installer arrives in the booked window and protects the working area.
- The hardware is fitted to the opening, then the screen or blind is fitted and adjusted to run smoothly.

The Five-Point Install Check
Every install ends the same way: your installer checks these five points off with you, then signs and dates the sheet and leaves it with you.
- We let you know before we arrived - you had our booking window and a heads-up when we were on our way.
- We demonstrated every screen - each screen or blind operated with you: how it runs, how it latches, and what never to force.
- We walked you through care and warranty - seasonal care and what your limited lifetime warranty covers.
- We protected your surfaces - mats down at entry points, and no tools or hardware rested where they could mark your home.
- We left the site clean - offcuts, packaging and rubbish gone with us, and drilling dust vacuumed.
The sheet carries QR links to the care guide and your warranty, so there are no paper manuals to lose. You can also download the install-day checklist (PDF).
Retrofit or new build
Most installs are retrofitted to existing aluminium joinery with neat, surface-mounted hardware. On new builds we coordinate recessed cassette and wiring details with your builder, joiner, or electrician ahead of time.

How long does an installation take? +
Most home installs are completed in a day - a window screen often takes under an hour, a door screen a couple of hours, and larger motorised outdoor screens can take the full day. Multi-screen jobs can run longer - we confirm timing when we book.
Can I install the screens myself? +
Our retractable screens and outdoor blinds are measured and fitted by our own team, so they are made to measure and fitted right the first time.
Can you fit screens to my existing doors and windows? +
Yes. Most of our installs are retrofitted to existing aluminium joinery with neat, surface-mounted hardware - no need to replace your doors or windows.
Do I need to do anything to prepare? +
Just clear access to the doors or windows being screened. We protect the area, handle the rest, and tidy up before we leave.
