Fresh air in a home with pets
A retractable screen lets you use the doorway for ventilation, then rolls away when you want an open passage. Pet-resistant mesh offers a tougher alternative to standard insect mesh, with a more visible weave.
Match the screen to your pet’s behaviour
An occasional paw is different from a dog charging a door or a cat climbing the mesh. PawScreen Lite is designed to resist light damage from small pets. It is not an assurance against tearing, track damage, escape or injury.
Compare door screen systems and ranch-slider options. Pet mesh is also available on compatible Executive motorised screens; it is not offered on Serene window screens or manual Ziptrak in our published range.

Frequently asked questions
Will pet mesh stop my pet escaping? +
No. Pet mesh is an insect-screen fabric, not a containment barrier. A pet that jumps, climbs, bites or pushes can still damage the mesh or screen. Use a suitable separate barrier if you need to keep an animal safely contained.
Is pet mesh suitable for a large dog or a climbing cat? +
Do not choose it on toughness alone. Tell us your pet's size and behaviour, and send a photo of the opening. PawScreen Lite is intended to resist light damage from small pets; repeated impacts or climbing are beyond that promise.
Can you upgrade an existing screen? +
Send photos of the screen, frame and label if available. We will check the system, condition and dimensions before confirming a mesh replacement.
Will the view and airflow change? +
Pet mesh has a heavier weave than standard insect mesh, so it is more visible and less open. Compare physical samples before choosing your fabric.
Are you the same company as Phantom Screens in the US or Canada? +
Phantom Screens NZ is New Zealand owned and run, and part of the wider Phantom Screens family. Phantom in Canada leads much of the group's research and development, and a few of our door and outdoor ranges are made to measure by Phantom in Australia, where our New Zealand volumes are too low to make them here. Most of our screens are made to measure in our own Tauranga workshop.
