The toughest screen for jumping pets
Some cats climb and some dogs leap straight at the door. A standard insect mesh will eventually stretch, bow, or pop out of its tracks under that. Our heavy-duty pet screens - often searched for as anti-jump screens - use a claw-resistant pet mesh, a vinyl-coated polyester weave that flexes under the hit and springs back into shape, so the screen keeps doing its job.
When the heavy-duty screen is the right call
If your pet has already wrecked a screen, climbs at the mesh, or is a large dog that leans and leaps at the door, the claw-resistant pet mesh is the durable answer - the same mesh we recommend across our pet-friendly range, fitted to the door systems that see the most pet traffic. One honest note: no insect screen is a pet-containment barrier, and a determined pet can still pull mesh out of its tracks - the claw-resistant weave makes that far less likely, but if you need to hold an animal back, talk to us about the opening and we will advise what to expect.

What is an anti-jump screen? +
It is a name that has stuck from older wire-mesh pet screens. What we fit is a claw-resistant pet mesh - a vinyl-coated polyester weave that flexes and springs back when a cat or dog jumps, climbs, or pushes at it, where a standard mesh would stretch, tear, or pop out.
Is it a wire mesh? +
No - and that is deliberate. The claw-resistant weave delivers the toughness people expect from wire without the industrial look, without sharp broken strands, and without snagging claws.
Which pets need the heavy-duty option? +
Cats that climb screens and large or boisterous dogs that leap at the door are the usual reasons. If your pet has already damaged a soft screen, the claw-resistant pet mesh is the durable answer.
Does pet mesh block the view or airflow? +
Up close the weave is a touch more visible than a standard mesh, but airflow stays good and it still keeps flies, mosquitoes, and spiders out.
Can it go on my existing screen doors? +

Phantom Screens NZ is New Zealand owned and run, and part of the wider Phantom Screens family. Phantom in Canada leads much of the group's research and development, and a few of our door and outdoor ranges are made to measure by Phantom in Australia, where our New Zealand volumes are too low to make them here. Our window screens are made in our Tauranga workshop, and every screen is measured, fitted, and serviced by our own team.
