All-weather outdoor blinds
Clear PVC outdoor blinds - often called cafe blinds - turn a covered deck or patio into a room you can use all year. Tensioned in the side channels, the crystal-clear panels block wind and driving rain while keeping your view, and they help hold the warmth from an outdoor heater on a cold night.
When to choose PVC over mesh
Choose clear PVC where weather is the problem - exposed decks, winter use, sideways rain, and hospitality spaces that need to stay open in all conditions. Where insects or glare are the issue and you want airflow, choose mesh blinds instead. Many homes combine PVC on the weather side with mesh elsewhere.
Looking after clear PVC
Clean with warm water and a soft cloth, not a water blaster, and never Rain-X or solvent. Let the panel dry before rolling it up so it does not crease, and roll it down again on calm days rather than leaving it furled for months.

Warranty by product
Phantom screens carry our limited lifetime warranty. Allegion's Brio 612 warranty provides five years of mechanical cover for interior installations and one year for exterior installations. MagicSeal magnetics carry their own product-specific warranty. Ziptrak backs genuine system components for five years through the retailer; Visiontex mesh, when specified, has a 10-year performance warranty subject to its conditions.

Will PVC blinds keep the rain out? +
Yes. Tensioned in the captured side channels, clear PVC blocks wind-driven rain far better than mesh, turning a covered deck into a usable all-weather room.
Do clear PVC blinds get condensation? +
Some condensation can form when it is cold and damp outside and warm inside the enclosure, as with any clear panel. Leaving a small gap for airflow or lifting a blind briefly clears it.
Can I get tinted PVC for privacy? +
Our PVC range is clear, for maximum view and weather protection. When you want daytime privacy or glare control, a solar or Visiontex mesh is the right tool - it cuts glare and heat while still letting you see out.

Phantom Screens NZ is New Zealand owned and run, and part of the wider Phantom Screens family. Phantom in Canada leads much of the group's research and development, and a few of our door and outdoor ranges are made to measure by Phantom in Australia, where our New Zealand volumes are too low to make them here.
