Meshlock and the Wall Screen are both premium retractable fly screens, but they serve different needs:
- Meshlock: Best for high-traffic areas and homes exposed to wind or pets. It features a secured mesh system to prevent blowouts and small pets escaping but is limited to 1.2m wide.
- Wall Screen: A larger, heavy-duty retractable fly screen, covering up to 4.5m wide per screen. It features a zip retention system for added durability and supports pet-proof and solar mesh options.
What is the best fly screen for retirement homes and villages?
The Brio 612 Pleated Fly Screen is the best choice for retirement homes because it does not have spring tension. This makes it easier to operate—it stays where you leave it and won’t retract suddenly if let go.
Can these fly screen doors be installed on large windows?
Yes, retractable fly screen doors are often used for large stacking and sliding windows. The Brio 612 Pleated Fly Screen is perfect for wide openings, while the Serene Window Fly Screen is ideal for standard windows.

How do I maintain my Phantom Fly Screen?
Phantom Fly Screens are low-maintenance. Simply wipe down the mesh and housing with a damp cloth every few months to keep them clean and functioning smoothly. Silicone spray on the tracks is also an excellent way to keep the screens running smoothly.
Are Phantom Fly Screens suitable for homes with pets?
Yes, we offer durable pet-friendly mesh options in the Wall Screen, designed to prevent tears and claw damage while keeping insects out. However, the standard insect mesh in the Meshlock is not known to be vulnerable to claws and can be easily replaced if needed.
